It just isn't winter until Chris and Smitty come out to ice fish. And they are here! Right now! Last weekend was their first time out on the ice and they had 3 days of fun! They are at it again this weekend! So, welcome to you Chris and Smitty!
On the farm: Well... we are going backwards with the kitchen. Yesterday I understand the granite company came out and removed the broken granite. Heaven knows when I will get the finished product back, and installed. Hopefully sometime before Jeff, Angela and kids come for a visit!
As you can see from the pictures below, my neighbor in Iowa, Virgil Cassell, has finished the first and most important aspect of my gates - the gigantic bison! He did a super job. I will have two of these - one on each gate, and they will be facing each other. These gates will be under the pole going into the pond where the summer kitchen was moved to. I think they will be beautiful!
I also have my welcome sign out for the triplets when they visit. Grammie will be very excited to see them sometime this year.
Welcome to the new (used) Kubota tractor! It's a 2006 model that is more my size. It will have many uses on the farm where it is housed right now!
On the Land: I have been tidying up the place - iside and out. Yep, with KonMarie's help I have been "sparking joy" with my possessions! I've only just begun and have a looooong way to go! My costume jewelry looks like a jewelry store!
Outside, Dave and I have been cleaning up an area behind the cottage and carriage house by the creek. It is so beautiful back there. I always emphasize the pond in front of the cottage, but my backyard is scenic, too!
And last but not least, here are some recent pictures of Katie, Chloe, Jack, Angela and Jeff! I miss them!
Have a great weekend, dear Reader! Stay warm. Just be glad we aren't living on the east coast! What a storm they are getting!
