I had an early Thanksgiving celebration with my entire family in Arizona. Jeff and Angela and kids flew down from Denver. I drove in from Illinois and Iowa. We all ended up at Linda and Pat's house, and had a great time. Our big early Thanksgiving was a week ago Sunday. See the picture of the whole clan. I miss everyone, as always. I am here on the Land quietly celebrating Thanksgiving by myself. It is breathtakingly beautiful outside right now, with a gentle dusting of snow all over the land and on the lake. The moon, small though it is, reflects light all over the Land. A quiet, beautiful glow.
Sadly, we all miss JJ. He left us 8 years ago, and will always be in our hearts. I miss seeing him in the physical sense...
Addition on November 28th: After I wrote this last night, I read a passage in the forward of a book called "Grow a Sustainable Diet" by Cindy Conner. In it she wrote about her son who had helped with the photographs for her book. This is what she said, "Four days later, he suddenly passed away at age 30. Since then, I have learned much about what happens when we pass from this world to the next. We are not really gone, just changed, and our energy is still here. Travis has made sure that our family and his friends have received many signs and much guidance and love from him. It has been quite a journey, these past years."
I feel the exact same way. JJ is always with me, guiding me (like making sure I picked up Cindy's book and read that passage), and sending all of us - his family and friends - his love. He came to me in a dream in 2009, all smiles and so happy, and it was right after that my life turned completely around, with great abundance and love. It is amazing what family can do, even from an invisible (to us) realm.
This is the first Thanksgiving without Mom, too. (November 28th addition:) Last evening as dusk approached, I took a walk to JJ's chapel. I talked with him for quite a while. When it was time to leave (and I hope this isn't too woo-woo for you, dear Reader), JJ was walking beside me. Jack was on my other side. Mom and Papa were behind me. We all walked at a good clip, very upbeat, back to the cottage. I am always surrounded by my family (in this realm or another realm), and I am so grateful.
I have so much to be thankful for - a wonderful caring family here and Above: JJ, Jack, Mom and Papa, Jeff and Angela, Katie, Chloe and Jack, Linda and Pat and their family, and so many wonderful friends.
I hope your Thanksgiving has been joyous, and quiet in its celebration of thankfulness, dear Reader.
