Dear Reader,
Earlier this month we had a good, wet snow at the Land. It made a record in Chicago. The photos are beautiful of the Land.
One of the big events this month (there were many!), was moving the old summer kitchen from Cassill's land to the farm overlooking the pond. It was a perfect day - dry and sunny and lovely. We moved it just in time, as the next day it started to rain and continued to pour all day. Great pictures of the move! Cliff, who's father actually did move buildings when Cliff was small, was in charge of the move, and he did an excellent job! It was very tight in the woods, and very scary coming down off the dam. Lots of excitement! But the summer kitchen/smokehouse finally sits a top of the hill overlooking the new pond.
Speaking of kitchens, I returned to the farm just before Thanksgiving . J C Huffman began to install the custom cabinets they built for the kitchen. Now we are waiting for the granite - and some additional electric work. I probably won't have a kitchen until next year, but at least it is started.
Then I drove to Denver for Thanksgiving with Jeff and Angela and kids. The neighbors came over and brought their children, Colton and Lyla. It was a wonderful Thanksgiving! Lots of pictures from the visit including finding the Christmas tree and decorating it.
Dear Reader, I hope you had a delicious Thanksgiving. I feel so grateful and thankful for my family and friends. I know you are thankful, too!
