Also, I am adding some pictures from The Land - the first picture above is one of the 550 hybrid hazelnuts planted last year. They have been pruned (not by deer, but that's another story), so they should be a bit thicker than they are, but well! that's the way it goes. They still look good. The permaculture farm is in its second year!
There are more scenes from The Land - the pond at sunset, the frog couple, girl reading and the wagon.
Unfortunately I have some sad news. Gordetta's eggs were eaten, probably by a raccoon. I woke up two days ago to see her swimming dazed around in front of what was her nest. Then she started to walk up toward the nest...and then stopped and walked the other way. Then back down into the water, with Gordon right beside her. She was so upset. Very sad.
Other pictures are from Nut Cracker Farm - the pond is finally done except for the walk going out to the island that Jim, Russ and Steve so elegantly made. They also made a shallow area closest to the farmhouse for the triplets to swim in. The only thing missing now is the water! I think its going to take maybe until next year to fill up completely! The barn is nearing completion, too. I took a picture of all the cars and pick up trucks in the driveway...this is what it takes to complete barns and ponds! And of course, the John Deer mower and Gator!
Stay warm, dear Reader! It's supposed to warm up at the end of this week!
